Project description
Travel Sisters Travel (TST) is a travel and NGO initiative focused on empowering young women through travel experiences that foster learning, leadership, and community engagement. The platform provides safe, guided journeys for young women, encouraging them to explore, learn, and grow while breaking societal barriers.

Problem Statement
Travel is a dream for many women, but the reality presents significant challenges:
Safety Concerns – Women hesitate to travel solo due to safety risks.
Lack of Women-Centric Platforms – Existing travel sites don’t focus on female travelers or community-driven trips.
Scattered Information – Details about trips, schedules, and communities are spread across multiple platforms (social media, WhatsApp groups, etc.).
Low Trust Factor – Women feel unsure about the credibility of travel groups and the authenticity of experiences.
The Core Problem:
There was no single, trustworthy platform where women could safely connect, discover trips, and join a community of like-minded travelers.
Project Goals
Design a safe, transparent, and user-friendly website for women travelers.
Highlight NGO’s mission & impact to build emotional trust.
Create a clear trip discovery & registration flow.
Encourage community engagement & participation.
Research Process
Methods Used:
Competitive Analysis → Reviewed women travel websites and NGOs.
User Interviews → Conducted informal interviews with 5 potential users (aged 20–35).
Empathy Mapping → Captured user emotions, frustrations, and needs.
Key Insights:
Safety First → Users wanted transparency in trip details, organizers, and safety measures.
Community Matters → Stories, testimonials, and authentic images create trust.
Ease of Joining → Complicated registration discourages sign-ups.
Emotional Connection → Women were more likely to join when the platform reflected empowerment, not just travel.
Solution
Travel Sisters Travel (TST) is a platform designed to address these challenges by offering safe, guided travel experiences exclusively for young women. It provides a user-friendly website where users can explore destinations, register for trips, learn about the organization’s mission, view a gallery of past events, connect with the team, and make secure payments. The design ensures intuitive navigation, visually engaging content, and secure booking options, making it easy for young women to embark on transformative journeys that foster learning, leadership, and community engagement.

Outcomes
Delivered a website design that communicates safety, trust, and community.
Simplified trip discovery & registration flow, reducing confusion.
Balanced practical usability (registration) with emotional storytelling (vision & empowerment).
Learnings
Designing for trust and safety is as critical as UI polish in women-focused platforms.
Problem-solving mindset is essential: every design decision must solve a user pain point.
Iteration and feedback loops improved usability and clarity.
Storytelling in design (mission, testimonials, visuals) builds stronger emotional engagement.
Travel Sisters Travel was more than just designing a website — it was about solving a real problem for women travelers. Through research, empathy, and design thinking, I created a platform that balances usability, trust, and empowerment. This project strengthened my ability to think beyond visuals and focus on problem-solving through design.
